Industrial Process Control Options from Eastern Applied
Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (ED-XRF) is a well established technique for process control in various industries because of its versatility in analyzing solids, liquids, and powders. The technology offers accuracy and excellent repeatability (from ppm to %) with a number of benefits over other analytical techniques (lower cost of acquisition, limited (or no) consumables, ease-of-use).
Advancements in components and design have increased the capabilities of x-ray fluorescence in the elemental analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, and final products leading XRF analyzers to be a common production control technique in petrochemcial and cement applications (among others).
Eastern Applied is pleased to be a distributor of Hitachi High-Technologies (formerly Seiko), offering an innovative line of elemental analyzers that can meet a variety of production control interests with precision, speed, and ease of use. The analyzer line includes the desktop XRF, Hitachi 1200VX, to meet various applications. With limited sample preparation, the proper system can provide elemental identification and quantification to meet a users interests.
In addition to the desktop analyzers in the Hitachi line, Eastern Applied Research is also able to provide portable material analysis options - including Handheld XRF rentals for short term testing needs and the industry leading X-Met8000 analyzer by Oxford Instruments for long-term interests.
While the application of X-Ray Fluorescence in process control is wide spread, some of the more common uses are highlighted here. Contact Eastern Applied Research to discuss these applications, or any other testing goal that your organization may have.
