Examples and Benefits of ExTOPE by Hitachi High-Tech Like most technologies, expectations for XRF analyzers have evolved over time. With the greater connectivity that the internet has provided, users expect quicker access to information. One major benefit offered by Hitachi High-Tech analyzers that isn’t talked about enough is the ExTOPE Connect program for data management. Read More ExTOPE Connect is an advanced data management service that is exclusively found on XRF Analyzers from Hitachi High-Tech. Portable XRF and LIBS analyzers as well as the bench-top LabX5000 system have this option available. Users of ExTOPE Connect will have real-time access to XRF results at any computer or phone (via downloadable apps) enabling data management of a single analyzer or a fleet of instruments from one centralized location. This provides users with the ability to share information faster and make decisions quicker. It is also a huge benefit when portable analyzers are being used because data can be transferred and processed before operators get back to a main location. Additionally, the cloud will have a greater capacity for historical results. An example of the benefit this can offer to a single unit user is in a scrap yard. When mixed material comes in, they can quickly sort it and move SS316 to the side. Images and information can be pulled up on the mobile phone app and immediately shared with potential buyers via email, text message, or even WhatsApp to move the process of selling the materials forward quickly. In that same scrap yard, if materials don’t meet a certain guaranteed composition, then the user can send the information from the app to work on getting a reduced price with all the data in an easy to submit format. While a single unit can benefit from its capabilities, fleet management can really see streamlined operations through ExTOPE connect. Imagine multiple XMet8000 analyzers (handheld XRF) being used in the field…multiple operators can take measurements and sample images, then share them instantly to the central locations’ computer. From there, management can review alloy grades, element chemistry, locations, and more while creating reports that can include spectrums, photos, comments, instructions, etc…all before the field operators are even in their cars heading home. A great example of fleet management benefits would be a ship owner managing a fleet of vessels that must meet low sulfur requirements in fuel. The ships all have a mix of the LabX5000 elemental analyzer and XMet8000 for their individual measurements. The results can be sent to the ExTOPE cloud when mobile data or wi-fi is available and give the main office access to results for real-time decision making plus long-term storage of the entire fleets results, and an interface to easily create reports for authorities. These are just a few examples of how the ExTOPE data management can benefit users of Hitachi High-Tech systems. If you have an existing system then contact us about getting your analyzer set-up with it…or, reach out to discuss adding a system that has these benefits.
