Company Overview

Since 1991, Eastern Applied Research has been dedicated to providing efficient and reliable sales, service and support for all models of coating measurement instruments.

Eastern Applied has been fortunate to grow and develop as a result of our attention to customers’ needs, the knowledge of our service engineers and field technicians, etc. While the early years were focused on serving the Northeastern United States, Eastern Applied is now providing on-site support throughout the entire United States, Canada and Mexico through our regionally located service technicians.

While increasing our customer base, adding to our instrument knowledge and developing additional services, Eastern Applied has always made the customers needs our priority - because the customers are the backbone of Eastern Applied Research.

Corporate Milestones

1991

Eastern Applied Research, Inc. was founded based on the need to provide customers with quality, timely and affordable in-house service and support of their coating thickness measuring equipment.

1992

Incorporated, June 1992

1995

New offices opened in Texas and California.

1996

Development of an XRF tube package that works in many different models of XRF gauges.

1997

Purchase of HVT High Voltage Technologies (HVT), a manufacturer of High Voltage Power Supplies.

1998

Development of an On-line XRF Reel-to-Reel System for measurement of multiple, individual spots using an optical pattern recognition program.

1999

Consolidation of the Standards Division and New York Sales and Service Office to create a centrally located Full-Service Center in New York State. Eastern Applied Research, Inc. opened three additional branch offices to provide customer support to Northern California, the Midwestern States, and Canada.

2000

ISO 9002 Certified and opened additional New York office specializing in Seiko and Veeco/UPA Technology instrumentation support.
Purchased Twin City/Asoma Inc.’s small instrumentation line (i.e.. Eddy/Magnetic, Beta Backscatter and Coulometric Instruments.) Sales exceed $1.5 Million

2001

Accredited by A2LA for ISO/IEC 17025
Becomes the exclusive authorized representatives for Seiko Instruments In USA, Canada, And Mexico
Sales exceed $2 Million

2002

Corporate Office relocates to Baltimore, Maryland
Developed Disaster Recovery Contingency Plan

2003

Set up Server system at New York facility for better record keeping, sharing, and updating of files also to interlink Offices and Field technicians

2005

Developed wireless communication thru out organization using PDA phones and Electronic Forms for faster customer billing and real time database updates

2006

Acquired 15,000 square foot facility in Lockport, NY for new location of Service Center

2007

Eastern Applied Research moves into new facility in Lockport, NY
